Panchakarma Treatments

According to Ayurveda Scriptures, Panchakarma treatments are the major Cleansing and Rejuvenation effort to 'Reset' the body and restore it to its balanced, natural and healing state.

Pancha means five, and Karma means actions or therapies. Panchakarma means going through five major cleansing therapies (medicated vomiting, purgation, nasal cleansing, oil enema, and decoction enema) to purify the body and mind.

Depending on the individual's body type, lifestyle, health conditions, body strength, etc the Ayurveda physician will decide the suitable Panchakrama treatments for a person. It is not necessary for a person to go through all the five panchakarma treatments in one treatment plan.

Ayurveda Therapies

Other than Panchakarma Treatments, there are various Ayurveda Therapies which are focusing on the individual body parts. These therapies repair, nourish and rejuvenate the organs or body parts when repeatedly followed for a specific time period.

The therapies are Abhyanga ( Ayurveda Oil Massage), Sweda (Ayurveda herbal steam), Shirodhara (Pouring Oil/ milk/herbal decoction in the forehead area), Patra panda sweda (Ayurveda herbal fomentation), Navara kizhi (Rice, milk & herbal fomentation), Netra Tarpana (holding medicated ghee in the eyes), Kati Vasti (holding oil in the lower back region), Janu Vasti (holding oil in the knee region), greeva Vasti (holding oil in the neck region), uroh vasti (holding oil in the chest region), lepana (Ayurveda body pack), Udvartana (Ayurveda Body Scrub), Thala pothichil (Ayurveda herbal hair pack), etc.
