Matangi is one of the ten Mahavidyas or Tantric goddesses. She is a fierce form of Goddess Durga and the Tantric form of Saraswati, goddess of art and learning. She rules knowledge, speech, music, and the art. It is believed that one can acquire supernatural powers by worshipping her. Such powers include control over one’s enemies, the ability to attract people, mastery over the arts, and obtaining supreme knowledge.
